Volunteer at the Denver Witches Ball!

Updated for 2023!

It takes a team of dedicated individuals to make an event like the Denver Witches’ Ball happen. The leadership team for Covenant of the River and some dedicated volunteers have been working to build another great event celebrating Samhain and the Denver Pagan community. If you have the energy and commitment, we’d love to invite you to volunteer with us on October 28th! We offer a free ticket to everyone who works about 3 1/2 hours. If you want to support this community event and save some money, please find a volunteer position that suits your skillset. Everything from ticket taking to watching the doors to the information table and more. Look at the jobs available on our sign up page, pick a position and a time, and sign up.

Guest Services are folx who can act like roving information booths, empty trash and help keep the building in order. Please wear sensible shoes and stay hydrated.

Info Booth volunteers have a stationary and busy job. Answering guest questions, signing up the costume contest contestants and checking volunteers all happen at your table in the main foyer.

Switcharoo Crew needs to be in the ballroom by 11pm to start transforming it into ritual space. Please be sober and quick on your feet. When the band comes down off the stage and the room is clear of guests, the decorations and tables get tucked away so that the ballroom can transform.

Setup and tear down seem simple enough. More creative types will want to be on setup to help with decorations and signage. Folx who plan to be around late in the night can help pack things up and load the truck.

Ticket Booth volunteers check in guests, sell taste tickets and help answer questions. This is a team of people most of the night. Must be comfortable handling cash, credit cards and guest identification.

Greeter will help direct traffic at the ticket booth and welcome guests while they are waiting.

Door guardians check for wristbands, direct guests to appropriate doors as necessary and watch for external troubles. Please dress for the weather: these are outdoor positions.

Vendor Assist needs to be able to lift heavy things and walk up stairs carrying things. You will be helping the vendor coordinator setup spaces and direct vendors. No direct handling of vendor merchandise is expected.

Volunteers at the Denver Witches’ Ball are expected to be cordial, sober and ask for help when they need it. Shifts are 3-4 hours from 10am on Saturday to 2am Sunday. Volunteers must check in at the Information Booth before their shift. When your shift is over, please remove your name tag and sign out with the volunteers at the Information Booth. Any person who does not show up for the volunteer shift that they signed up for will not be able to volunteer next year. Volunteers will receive a short survey about your experience: please take a few minutes and let us know how your evening and volunteer shift went.
