Drumming For Drumcircles

Drumcircles come in a wide range of types, purposes, and settings.  In this workshop, we will explore the different kinds, and what sort of drumming fits well with each kind.  For example, in drumming for a ritual, the constraints are tight, and need to match the intentions of those running the ritual.  In contrast, the drumming at a free-form circle with no facilitator has only a few “rules”, but there are still taboos to be avoided.  We will also explore what tends to make for a good drumcircle experience, and what detracts from that.  A few basic drum techniques will be covered (but not in-depth) to ensure we have a common foundation for the workshop.  Bring a drum or percussion instrument if you have one that you’d like to work with, or use one of a handful of extras that we have on hand.  Special Note: this workshop is useful for anyone, regardless of skill level, and you need not even be a drummer to attend!

Pat’s mission is to bring the spirit of Drumming to the people, on the path since the 90’s.  Pat has taught workshops about Drumcircles, basic drumming, Drumming for Ritual, Drumming in Community at Dragonfest, Untamed, Pagan Unity Fest, and Mystic Mabon Southwest.  He also hosts a monthly circle in Fort Collins, and another near the Devil’s Backbone west of Loveland.

She focuses on accessible, actionable readings and facilitating inner work and growth. Outside of Astrology and divination, Lori works in the mental health field and credits her Scorpio Moon for her capacity to delve into the darkest workings.
