Nordic Daughter is a fusion of rock, Viking ballads, and Celtic madness. We understand that Valhalla only comes after the battle. Some of our songs will rock you to your core and others will inspire your soul to return to love and light. Come into the forest and dance to our vocals, guitar, electric violin, and drums. “Stand up, share your melody, you’re born to be a Valkyrie!”

Tierro Band!
Tierro Band with Bridget Law is comprised of five world-class musicians from very distinct genres. The group was formed in 2012 and has been winning over audiences ever since with its unique Roma Grass musical style. Colorado’s favorite folk fiddler Bridget Law, a founder of the Americana group Elephant Revival, brings her soaring, award-winning musicianship to the stage. Tierro Lee, of the world music band Kan’Nal and lead guitarist for blues-legend Otis Taylor, supplies world-beat inspired melodies. Charles Parker Mertens who studied ragas in India, jazz in the US, toured with Thievery Corporation and Rapidgrass, lays it down on the upright bass. Jonny Jyemo studied extensively in Cuba and Puerto Rico. He plays a percussion kit formed out of a cajon, bongos and a hi-hat and his rhythms are the backbone of the group.

Drum Frenzy folks and lovers of ecstatic rhythms take note: the evening begins with Jam Key Jam including world class Nepalese tabla master Nabin Shrestha! Enjoy an hour of Jam Key Jam before the Primal Roots Drum Frenzy begins at 8:00 pm!
Did you know there are 33 million gods and goddesses in the Hindu tradition? They are revered by 1.08 billion believers, most of them in India. The tablas, or Indian drums, play distinct pitches and are harder to master than any other percussion instrument in the world. A percussionist with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra who owns almost 200 ethnic percussion instruments once told me he would have to set them all aside and spend years just to become a decent tabla player!

The combination of talent, musicianship, and passion exchanged between Bridget Law (founding member of Elephant Revival) and Tierro Lee (Kan’Nal, Otis Taylor Band & producer of Arise Music Festival) makes for a powerful concert experience. The gypsy-funk-get down-vibes come alive with Charles Parker on bass (recently back from sitting in on tour with Thievery Corporation) and drummer Jonny Jyemo (founder of Jyemo Club).The world dance experience is elevated even higher with the addition classically trained master tabla musician Nabib Shrestha, and the world-class belly dance and performance artist Kymbreanne.Arriving on a floating carpet powered by a magical genie the sound of TIERRO BAND is an oasis for lovers of live exotic dance and world improvisation. The ethnic flavors of tabla & sitar spice up the danceable backbeat as guitars and violins intertwine layers of alluring melodies from distant lands.
